Infinite Reality

February 16, 2012 | 20:00

You could discover how to find eternal life, new worlds, myriads of avatars and much more at Digital October Center from the lecture of Professor Jeremy Bailenson, the founder of the Virtual Human Interaction Lab at Stanford University.

Imagine that you never age, that you can have a great body with the push of a button.  What about living in a world without war or stench, one where global warming really is just a myth.  In this world your great grandfather could play ball with your six year old daughter,  there would be no danger of disease.

You could discover how to find eternal life, new worlds, myriads of avatars and much more on February 13th at 20:00 in the conference hall at Digital October Center from the lecture of Professor Jeremy Bailenson, the founder of the Virtual Human Interaction Lab at Stanford University.

"Walking over a tightrope over a chasm in virtual reality can be a terrifying ordeal even if the walker know it's virtual rather than physical", states Dr. Jeremy Bailenson, PhD.  As an associate professor in the Department of Communication at Stanford, Jeremy specializes in cognitive psychology, researching the phenomenon of humanity's digital representation in the context of immersive virtual reality.  Put more simply, he explores the ways in which people can discover themselves, when physical conditions lose meaning.

"This leads to an interesting proposition - the brain doesn't much care if an experience is real or virtual", says Professor Bailenson and promises prove this statement with the results of his years-long research.

Jeremy Bailenson's laboratory research and developments are well-financed by the National Science Foundation (USA) and multiple international corporations (operating in Silicon Valley), so it can be concluded that the problems  posed by survival in a chaotic virtual world will soon touch everyone. Knowledge Stream, Rostelecom  and the Russian Venture Company offered you the unique opportunity, free of charge, to prepare yourself for this monumental turn in our civilization's history.
