On May 31 the Digital October Center begun a brand-new collaborative effort with IBS: a cycle of lectures focused on tomorrow’s remote technology. The creator of the first robot with a web interface, the UC Professor Ken Goldberg discussed cloud robotics, something that is bringing us closer to the day when everyone will have their own personal robot.
On April 22 Brad Hargreaves spoke at the Digital October Center. Co-founder of a company that has revolutionized business education, offering new educational formats focused on practical skills for entrepreneurship and design industry discussed the ongoing global expansion of General Assembly as well as what an effective education should look like in a world where technology is increasing at an ever faster pace.
On April 19 lead brand expert and partner at BaseDesign Geoff Cook along with his colleague Martin Bravo was featured on the Knowledge Stream project. Lecturers explained why Apple, Google, VK and Facebook have human characteristics, as well as how to become the next IKEA of the IT industry.
On April 9 the Digital October center organized a web lecture featuring Kevin Werbach as part of the Knowledge Stream project. Kevin is currently a gamification strategist and the first person to teach the implementation of game theory in non-gaming situations to the American business elite: students at the prestigious Wharton School.
On March 28 one of Kinect engineers Professor Zeev Zalevsky gave a talk at the Digital October center on how opto-electronic technologies can save ones live.
On March 19, serial entrepreneur and author of the business bestsellers The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur and The Pumpkin Plan Mike Michalowicz spoke at the Digital October center as part of the Knowledge Stream educational project. He did explain how to make a startup into a market leader if one has little money and other resources.
On February 15, Portuguese entrepreneur Jose Torres, a world-renowned expert on country branding, gave a talk at Digital October as part of the Knowledge Stream project. He told guests about the benefits countries gain from looking after their image.
On February 7, entrepreneurs Martin Bjergegaard and Jordan Milne, the authors of “Wining without losing”, gave a talk at the Digital October center as part of the Knowledge Stream project. The book contains experience from many businessmen who all have one thing in common: they don’t want to waste their lives at work.
On January 28, Hiroshi Ishiguro, one of the world’s foremost roboticists, gave a lecture at Digital October Center. He has won the RoboCup prize for creating the best humanoid on four occasions. Synectics also named him one of the “Top 100 Living Geniuses” in 2007.
