Professor Caruso, co-creator of the concept of Emotional Intelligence (EI) – one of the newest tools in business management and effective communication. He is also the developer of MSCEIT – Mayer, Slovey, Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test.
His research on how emotions influence one’s performance at he workplace led to two basic conclusions:
1. emotions activate, that is, significantly expand and accelerate, intellectual processes
2. emotions have a selective effect on the intellectual processes.
Institutions in England, Italy, Spain, Russian, the United Arab Emirates and many other countries are working in collaboration with Yale University.
On the 9th of April Dr. Caruso discussed the latest developments of his laboratory that are related to the study and use of the influence of emotions on people and society. After the lecture, Russian experts from the International Center “Consulting. Training. Coaching” presented the results of the first EI research carried out in Russia, which has shown a correlation between the level of EI and the key effectiveness indicators of Russian top managers. They discussed the opportunities for the development of EI, its connection to professional experience, and gender differences.
