On June 4, the Digital October center with support of the Alpina Publisher publishing house, hosted a lecture by William Taylor — an American entrepreneur, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine Fast Company, author of the bestseller “Practically Radical,” and coauthor of “Mavericks at Work.”
William Taylor is a cofounder and Editor-in-Chief of the Fast Company business magazine, which has become a main source of information for startups and businessmen of Silicon Valley. He wrote the book “Practically Radical,” a manifesto with practical advice and radical ideas on how to energize your business and attain success in conditions of ruthless competition, based on his many years of experience in the world of business.
IBM, Zappos, Swatch, and other companies are rethinking and changing the rules of business, perfecting themselves and opening up new possibilities even in complex market conditions. William Taylor related how they were succeeding in doing this and how to stop being afraid to demand things from yourself, improve your chances for success, reexamine the logic of established business models, and even change the industry.
From the moment of publication, the book received many positive comments from world-famous professionals, including one of the most popular American journalists, the best-selling author Daniel Pink, and the writer and columnist Arianna Huffington. Taylor’s previous book, “Mavericks at Work,” became, according to The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, a world bestseller, and the editorial board of The Economist considered it to be “the business book of the year.”
